Clemens Construction, the developers of Maxim at Tenley, a condominium development at 4600 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, will go to auction as a recent victim of foreclosure. Originally planned as a 70-unit condo project, it was down-sized through community debate to a 36,000 sf building with a maximum of 42 units and a puny retail component fronting retail-starved Wisconsin Avenue. A victum of the real estate market compounded by the reduced scale, the entire 12,661sf lot, including the store fronts at 4600-4609 and 4614 Wisconsin, has been bundled for the auction block along with the architects' plans. That's a scratch.
